Syfy Prepping 'Warehouse 13' Spinoff
Syfy is developing a spin-off of its popular Warehouse 13. The project,
from Warehouse writers Jack Kenny and Bob Goodman, will center on the
character of H.G. Wells. Set in an 1890s steampunk environment. H.G.
Wells is a free agent who uses her knowledge of contemporary science to
solve murders and other mysteries.
Networks Announce New Schedules
Sci-fi, fantasy and adventure were represented in the new network
schedules, presented this week at their upfront presentations to
advertisers. NBC added "Grimm" to its Friday line-up while ABC has
picked up a remake of "Charlie's Angels."
Dimension Films, Miramax to Produce 'Amityville Horror' Sequel
Dimension Films and Miramax are joining forces to produce the sequel The
Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes. While Bob and Harvey Weinstein, who
head Dimenson's parent, the Weinstein Co., made an unsuccessful bid
last year to buy Miramax, which they originally founded, from Disney,
they subsequently struck a deal with Miramax's new owners to partner
on sequels and TV projects.
Super Rad Adds Marvel Toys
Super Rad inked a licensing agreement with Marvel Entertainment to
launch a line of products featuring Marvel super heroes including Thor,
Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man and The Hulk. The Super Rad
offerings will include do-it-yourself vinyl figures, do-it-yourself
resin statues, USB/thumb drives, MP3 players, vinyl collectible trading
charms and ningyo dolls.
