Sony Redefines Motion Gaming With PlayStation Move
Sony announced PlayStation Move is available exclusively for the
PlayStation 3. PlayStation Move offers the most immersive and realistic
gaming experience for the PS3 system by fusing realistic,
high-definition gaming along with accurate and easy-to-use controls. By
incorporating the PlayStation Eye camera with PlayStation Move, the
user's full range of motion is captured, resulting in ultimate control
over how one plays the games, as well as the opportunity to project the
player's image into select games for new augmented reality experiences.
'True Lies' lands at ABC
James Cameron's TV adaptation of his 1994 hit "True Lies" has landed at
ABC. If greenlighted, the project will mark the "Avatar" director's
second foray into TV after his Fox drama "Dark Angel."
Syfy Orders Script Development of "Metadocs" From Platinum Studios
Syfy is developing the drama script "Metadocs." Based on the Antarctic
Press comic book series created by Joe Dunn and Rod Espinoza and
controlled by Platinum Studios, "Metadocs" follows a team of specialists
tasked with treating a small percentage of the world's population who
have become 'afflicted' with extraordinary abilities -- how do you
perform surgery on a man with unbreakable skin? The hypothetical becomes
the actual as great powers now also come with great medical
complications. "Metadocs" treats these patients when and where no other
hospital can, using real world science and medicine.
Namco Launches Newest Knightfall Title
Namco announced the newest Knightfall title for PC and iPhone. In the
newest iteration in the series, the gameplay stays true to the puzzle
matching, role-playing (RPG) elements for which Knightfall is known.
Five Game Modes are available to choose from including Story, Endless,
Endless 2-player, Pet Protector and Boss Rush Mode. Through over 100
stages in Story Mode, the player maneuvers the characters around the
board by rotating the entire play area and drilling away groups of
blocks.
Capcom Mobile Releases Mr. Bill Game
Capcom has released an iPhone and iPod touch game based on the iconic
late night character, Mr. Bill. Players attempt to guide the
accident-prone clay character through a series of disaster-filled jobs
run by his nemesis Sluggo. Trying out as a human cannonball for Sluggo
Big-Time Circus, you'll launch Mr. Bill through two hazardous
occupations and dozens of fun-filled levels. After being shot from the
cannon, players control Mr. Bill's altitude by tapping the screen,
causing Mr. Bill to flap his arms. Your goal is to help him stay aloft
until he reaches his destination by bouncing off trampolines, dangling
from balloons and getting shot into the air by trained seals while
avoiding all manner of treacherous obstacles.
EA's Medal of Honor Multiplayer Open Beta Launches on October 4
Electronic Arts announced that Medal of Honor will be recruiting PC
gamers for a Multiplayer Open Beta that commences on October 4. The Open
Beta will allow players an opportunity to sample Medal of Honor's rich
multiplayer mode before the full game launches on October 12. For a
limited time, PC gamers worldwide are invited to sample two diverse maps
and two action-packed multiplayer modes.
