THQ Announces New Downloadable Title Red Faction: Battlegrounds
Mechs or tanks? The age-old debate will be settled on Mars as THQ
announced the development of Red Faction Battlegrounds™, the first
downloadable title in the history of the acclaimed Red Faction
sci-fi/action franchise.
Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara to Star in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara have been cast in the lead roles of
Columbia Pictures' three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson's literary
blockbuster The Millennium Trilogy under the direction of David Fincher.
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - the first film of the series, which
also includes The Girl Who Played With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked The
Hornet's Nest - begins shooting next month in Sweden. The screenplay is
written by Steve Zaillian and the film is being produced by Scott Rudin,
Cean Chaffin, Ole Sondberg and Soren Staermose. Mikael Wallen and Anni
Fernandez are executive producers. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is
set for worldwide release December 21, 2011.
Microsoft Heralds a New Age of Gaming With 'Age of Empires Online'
Microsoft unveiled the newest addition to the "Age of Empires"
franchise, "Age of Empires Online." Microsoft also announced the
development of "Microsoft Flight," a new entry inspired by the
best-selling "Microsoft Flight Simulator" franchise. Published by
Microsoft Game Studios, these new titles, along with the previously
announced "Fable III," fully integrate the free* Games for Windows -
LIVE online service to deliver compelling socially connected gameplay
experiences.
Namco Networks Brings TEKKEN RESOLUTE to U.S. Mobile Market
Namco Networks launched the ultimate fighting game, TEKKEN RESOLUTE, on
mobile, including Java, BREW, Windows Mobile and RIM.The company has
thus far failed to bring the franchise to the iPhone.
"Covert Affairs" Receives Second-Season Order
After just a month since its debut, the spy drama "Covert Affairs" has
received a second-season order from USA Network. The show, which debuted
July 13, hit a series high on Aug. 17 when 5.4 million viewers tuned in.
It's also drawn the biggest audience of adults between the ages of 18 to
49 of any cable series debut this year.
Stan Lee To Appear on "Eureka"
Stan Lee, the father of Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk and dozens of
other comic book heroes will appear on Syfy's "Eureka." He will make a
cameo on the show next season.
