KISS Invades Riverdale
In a four part story in ARCHIE #627- #630 KISS helps Archie and the gang
save the town from the monsters of Riverdale when one of Sabrina's
spells goes awry.
VIewers Look In On 'Ringer'
The return of Sarah Michelle Gellar to television didn't bring in
breakout numbers for the CW. Tuesday's debut of Ringer, about two
formerly estranged twin sisters (both played by the Buffy the Vampire
Slayer alum), delivered 2.84 million total viewers in its premiere
telecast and a 1.2 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. It was the
best time period performance for the CW in three years and the
most-watched Tuesday in two.
'Captain America' Earns More Overseas than in U.S.
Defying perception, Paramount and Marvel Studios' Captain America: The
First Avenger has now earned more overseas than in North America.To
date, the superhero tentpole has grossed $178 million internationally,
compared to $173.5 million at the domestic box office. The overseas
tally includes a strong $5 million opening in China over the Sept. 9-11
weekend.
Harlan Ellison Sues New Regency
Science fiction legend Harlan Ellison is attempting to kill a
high-profile movie that is scheduled to come out in theaters next month.
The Hugo award-winning writer has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit
against New Regency and director Andrew Niccol over the 20th Century
Fox-distributed film, In Time, starring Justin Timberlake, Amanda
Seyfried and Cillian Murphy. He is demanding an injunction to prevent
the film's October 28 release and the disposal of all copies of the
film.
'Source Code' to Be Adapted for TV at CBS
Mark Gordon is bringing his feature film Source Code to the small
screen.
His Mark Gordon Company, which is locked into an overall deal at ABC
Studios, has sold a TV version of the sci-fi thriller to CBS with a
meaningful penalty. 'Source Code' tells the story of a man who can
travel into the last minutes of a person's life to undo his last
actions.
