Mattel Inks Masters of the Universe Deals
Mattel and Classic Media have launched a consumer products program to
celebrate the 30th anniversary of Masters of the Universe franchise. The
program includes apparel from Changes, costumes from Disguise and a
special 30th anniversary edition DVD box set from Mill Creek
Entertainment. The Masters of the Universe Classics toy line featuring
updated sculpts of vintage Mattel toys will be available next year only
on Mattycollector.com.
Dark Horse Comic 'Beasts of Burden' To Come To Big Screen
Dark Horse comic Beasts of Burden is heading to the big-screen with
Shrek and Chronicles of Narnia director Andrew Adamson leading the
charge. Adamson is producing what is intended to be a CG-animated
feature adaptation with his Strange Weather Films partner Aron Warner
along with Mike Richardson of Dark Horse Entertainment.
Marvel Assembles The Avengers
Marvel Entertainment is assembling a successful worldwide licensing and
merchandising campaign to support its recent and upcoming Super Hero
theatrical slate. A number of major blue-chip partners continue to
anchor the program and will be developing Marvel's The Avengers
specific merchandise tied to next summer's film event. These include
category leaders Hasbro, Hallmark, Huffy, Kellogg's, Fruit of the
Loom, and Brown Shoe.
CBS Consumer Products Expands CSI
CBS Consumer Products brings GDC-GameDevCo and IGT on board to develop a
range of new CSI: Crime Scene Investigation games. GDC-GameDevCo will
make all-new board games and playing cards; and IGT will make slot
machines. The CSI franchise is a worldwide television phenomenon that
includes CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami and CSI: NY.
