CBS Launches LIcensed Products
CBS Consumer Products unveil exclusive limited-edition products based on
"Star Trek," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "NCIS," "Dexter" and "The
Twilight Zone" at Comic Con International. CBS brought 1,701
limited-edition Enterprise bottle opener key chains made from stainless
steel. In addition, CBS will offer red, blue and yellow wristbands with
Star Trek phrases on them throughout the show.
The Dark Tower Falls To Pieces
The Dark Tower is dead...and no one is surprised. Universal has
officially closed the book on its ambitious three-movie and TV series
adaptation of Stephen King's fantasy Western from Imagine
Entertainment, writer Akiva Goldsman and director Ron Howard.
Warner Bros. Picks Up 'Red Star'
Warner Bros. is in negotiations to pick up the Soviet-themed sci-fi
fantasy comic book series The Red Star, which had been put into
turnaround by Universal. Neal Moritz and his Original Films banner are
attached to produce as is Jason Netter of comic-centric shingle
Kickstart Productions.
'Scanners' Being Developed For TV
With the success of AMC's "The Walking Dead" and other genre entries,
the cult favorite sci-fi horror movie "Scanners,' which was most notable
for it's scenes of exploding heads, is being developed for television.
