Arcana Books Debuting at SDCC 2011 in booth 2415
Every year, we surprise fans by debuting a slew of books, which haven't been
seen by anyone, and won't be released officially for months. This year is no
different!

At booth 2415 at San Diego Comic Con, we will debut Devil's Island, Amnesia,
Armour, Becoming, Divine Intervention, SideShows*, Marlow, Blood Shells &
Roses, My Best Friend's a Booger, Shadowlaw, UltraDuck, Trout, and Old School.

*SideShows is being released in a special Launch Edition, limited to 100
copies.

Below, you can read a little bit about each book.

Devil's Island ~ A historical fiction thriller, Devil's Island follows the
trials and tribulations of a few fictitious prisoners, who are used as hunters
by the prison guards. Their job: re-capture other prisoners who attempt
escaping the jungle island, bringing them back dead or alive, at any cost. The
book also touches upon elements of failed social upheaval, the futility of
imprisonment, and what dwelling on the past does to ones present and future.

Amnesia ~ One of the most feared terror attack scenarios involves the
detonation of a weapon that generates a powerful electromagnetic pulse (EMP)
that immediately renders, power circuits, computers, even automobiles useless.
But what if a weapon was discharged that, in addition to all the above, also
erased people's memories? Would mankind, given a fresh start, continue on its
path to self-destruction? Or would it, free of its preconceptions, usher in a
new age of peace? Amnesia explores what might happen if someone were to push
the restart button on the human race.

Amour Vol 1 and 2 ~ Romance comics have an outdated and cheesy stigma about
them, but once they played a large role within comic history. Within the third
phase of the golden era (1948 to 1954) comic readership was at an all time
high, read by both men and women, and romance comics were one of the five
genres that kept comic readership diverse. In an attempt to bring more
diversity back to comics, Arcana is proud to present the Amour Anthology!

accident Marc must dive headfirst into a dangerous new world where he is hunted

hit on you for stiffing him a tip. High rollers, lounge singers, cigarettes,
alcohol, and superpowers. Welcome to Las Vegas! Debuting at SDCC in a special

Marlow ~ "Marlow‟ is a zombie story inspired by Joseph Conrad's "Heart of
Darkness". It about one man's journey into the darkness of his soul, and his
discovery that perhaps we're all zombies. Marlow is an ex-Marine caught in a
dilemma impossible to solve: commit atrocious acts for a global corporation in
order to receive medicine that keeps him from reverting to a zombie state, or
walk away and suffer the fate of becoming some terrible creature. Struggling
with his fears of his affliction and the monster he might become, Marlow
abandoned his wife and young daughter, losing his dignity and freedom as he
chose a nihilistic life. It is only during this journey told in the story that
Marlow realizes that perhaps by avoiding suffering he has become like the
zombies he so fears to become and that the only way out is to suffer his fate
and become one. "Marlow‟ is a zombie tale about suffering and its part in our
humanity, and, in that sense, not about zombies at all.
