The Topps Company Joins JAKKS Pacific, Dentsu and FME on MONSUNO Project
Pacific Animation Partners (the Joint Venture formed by JAKKS Pacific,
Inc. (NASDAQ: JAKK) and Dentsu Entertainment USA, to produce and
distribute original new animation entertainment) and FremantleMedia
Enterprises (FME) announce that The Topps Company has signed on for the
new animated entertainment project, MONSUNO. Topps will be an investor
in the production of the MONSUNO animated TV series, as well as a
licensee and partner on trading card games, confectioneries and related
products.
Idris Elba, Johnny Whitworth Gear Up for 'Ghost Rider 2'
Idris Elba (nd Johnny Whitworth are in negotiations to join the cast of
"Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance." The movie, with Nicolas Cage
back as the demonic biker anti-hero, has Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor
behind the cameras.
Sony Online Bringing Free Realms to Macintosh
Sony Online with TransGaming announced that Free Realms for the
Macintosh platform is currently in development. Scheduled to release
later this fall, Free Realms Mac users will play together in the
family-friendly online world with the over 14 million existing
registered players on the PC.
World of Warcraft Subscriber Base Reaches 12 Million Worldwide
Blizzard announced that the subscriber base for World of Warcraft now
exceeds 12 million players worldwide. This milestone was reached in the
wake of the mainland Chinese launch of World of Warcraft's second
expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, and also as global anticipation
continues to mount for the December 7 release of the game's third
expansion, Cataclysm.
'Mission: Impossible 4′ Snares Its Villainess
Léa Seydoux, the French actress who recently appeared in Ridley Scott's
"Robin Hood" and the opening farmhouse scene of "Inglourious
Basterds," will square off against Tom Cruise in Paramount's fourth
"Mission: Impossible" movie. Seydoux will play the lead female
villain in the pic, which just began shooting in Europe.
Harry Potter Misses 3D Train
Warner Bros. Pictures has made the decision to release "Harry Potter
and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1" in 2D, in both conventional and
IMAX theaters, as they will not have a completed 3D version of the film
within the release date window.
