'Lost' Writer's Tackles Stephen King Novel
"Lost" writer and producer Brian K. Vaughan will tackle "Under the
Dome," a 2009 novel by King, for Showtime. The thriller is about a Maine
town that suddenly is surrounded by a force field that shuts off the
town from the rest of the world.
'Terra Nova' Gets Ratings Boost
Fox's "Terra Nova" had a big night in Monday's Nielsen
overnights. "Terra Nova" was up 24% from a week ago in 18-49, with a
2.6 average rating. "Terra Nova" was also up 17% in total viewers
to 7.6 million. The rookie show's chance for a second season has yet
to be determined.
Fox Orders 'Punisher' Pilot
A project based on Marvel's "The Punisher," has been given a put pilot
commitment. The series from former "Criminal Minds" showrunner Ed
Bernero is about a detective with the New York Police Department who
moonlights as the Punisher, finding justice when the system fails. It's
the second comic-inspired project at Fox, which also has "The Spectre"
in development, based on the DC Comics superhero.
Max Borenstein To Revive Godzilla
Max Borenstein has been tapped to write the planned remake of Godzilla.
Gareth Edwards, the director of the indie sci-fi movie Monsters, is
attached to direct the creature feature centered on the giant
city-destroying and monster-fighting lizard, which is in development at
Legendary Pictures.
