[Super Hero News] Comic book artist taking his act on Broadway ...with Spider-Man

Comic book artist
taking his act on Broadway ...with Spider-Man

Comic book artist Greg Horn will be
lending his talent to the Broadway extravaganza SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK,
providing high end illustrations for the play's line of merchandise and also
some imagery for the official program guide.
Touted as the most elaborate ever, the
play brings Horn onto a star-studded project helmed by industry giant Julie
Taymor, with songs by music legends Bono and The Edge of U2. Coming off his most
recent work for Marvel and ESPN Magazine's NBA preview issue, the artist has had
his fair share of high profile projects recently. "I've worked on some
mind-blowing jobs over the past 10 years, but this one might just take the
cake. It's a biggie! They were nice enough to fly me up last month to see the
show in person, and that really helped me get a grasp of the show's scope and
look. I've never seen anything like it…a visual
spectacle!"
Greg is best known for his years of
memorable cover paintings for Marvel Comics. His campaigns in the advertising
field with giants such as Leo Burnett and W&K have helped prepare him for
anything the high-pressure world of mainstream illustration can dish out. "My
goal with any project - whether we're talking advertising, video game, or comic
book art - is to create the highest quality of illustration. In the case of Turn
Off the Dark, the bar is set pretty high by the rest of the production. By
focusing on the best qualities of the characters and freeze-framing the action
in the perfect place, I can create a marketable image that is epic and
inspiring. I'm extremely pleased with the way things are turning out so far with
Spidey!"

'Inception,' 'Walking Dead' Top Saturn Awards Nominations

Inception dominated the Saturn Award nominations, announced Wednesday by
the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror, with a total of nine
mentions. The films Let Me In and Tron: Legacy followed with seven
nominations each. On the TV side, The Walking Dead led with six noms,
followed by Breaking Bad, Lost and Fringe with five noms apiece.

Ewan McGregor Joining 'Jack the Giant Killer'

Ewan McGregor is in negotiations to join the cast of Jack the Giant
Killer, New Line and Legendary's tentpole being directed by Bryan
Singer.The project is a retelling of the Jack and the Beanstalk fairy
tale centering on a farm boy who leads an expedition to free a princess
taken hostage by a giant, a situation which threatens the uneasy peace
between humans and giants.

Kiefer Sutherland Returning to Primetime

Kiefer Sutherland, who starred for eight seasons on Fox's 24, is
officially reuniting with the network. He will star in and executive
produce the Fox drama pilot Touch, from Heroes creator Tim Kring.

It Books To Publish "Cowboys and Aliens"

It Books, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, will publish the
"Cowboys and Aliens" graphic novel in hardcover on February 22, 2011,
followed by a paperback in anticipation of the feature film release on
July 29, 2011. "Cowboys & Aliens" tells the story of an alien invasion
in the Old West in the late 19th Century. The graphic novel by Platinum
Studios was first published in December 2006.
